Fire Rated Glass
Fire rated glass is glass that is required to hold out high volume of heat that can be transferred through glass. This is usually required for a building code such as doors going into a Wearhouse from an office.
Fire Rated glass is a specific tempered glass that has specific impact safety ratings. Typical glass that is used is ceramic glass as it can hold up to 800 degrees of heat most common in fire places glass cooktops or ovens. Another common fire glass is Firelite which is made of with ceramic glass laminated together. Tempered glass can hold up to 250 degrees but is not considered fire glass.
This is a special ordered glass and can take up to 3 to 4 weeks to get.
